Many boating people, sail and power alike, believe that since they are running their engine, that LED navigation lighting isn't needed. Although it's true that power consumption isn't an issue, that isn't the only reason to buy an LED navigation light. |

| <----- Masina 'Afa-18 LED 240˚ Sector Light |
| Just like our Masina Malosi 360˚ tri-colour replacement light (or anchor light), our Masina 'Afa and Masina Kuaka lights
have a greater safety margin because of their redundant circuit design. |
||
| If you use an incandescent bulb and it fails open ('burns out'), you have no light at all. With all of our navigation lighting products, our engineering ensures that in the worst case, most of the LED's on a single row will remain lit, even if an LED does fail. In the event of the current regulator failing, you would still have a working masthead light, able to be seen at the same distance, as each row of LED's are electrically independent of each other. |   | ![]() |

| The Masina 'Afa is designed to replace the filament bulb with an LED bulb in stern, bicolor, or a steaming light (vessels less than 12 meters light fixtures. If your vessel is between 12 and 20 meters, and you need to replace your steaming light, please take a look at our Volasiga three nautical mile LED light here. |   |

The Masina Kuaka is intended as an L.E.D. festoon (a light bulb that looks like a fuse) bulb replacement, often seen in individual running lights. |

As you can see by how John L. has mounted his Masina Kuaka, it also works great as a replacement LED bulb for under counter cabin, refrigerator, and galley lights. As he has quite a few innovative uses for our products, you might want to take a look at his blog. You need to be quick, because he is due to start cruising soon! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| After being reliably informed (Sept 08) that our lights when our lights when mounted inside of a AquaSignal Tricolour combo manufactured (in likely) 2007 or 2008, did not render the green to be within COLREG spec. Consequently, we took immediate action to address this, and we now have available, in the same output intensity, our navigation lights in a true 'warm white' colour. By making this switch, they now comply with the green colour requirement, whilst the red remains the same. |

| As stated elsewhere on this site, our lights are not certified by any agent of any government, and, are thus,
used at the customer's own risk. We nevertheless believe our lights to be in compliance with COLREG (reference
here). You may also reference the COLREG colour co-ordinates here and compare the defined ranges to the photographs below. |
